Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Charles Teller has worked in Ethiopia since 1992 for U.S. government and international organizations, as well as for the Ethiopian government institutions. He is adjunct visiting professor in the Population Studies and Research Center, Addis Ababa University (AAU), Ethiopia, and North American Coordinator of the Ethiopian Population Studies Association. He previously served as professor of population and development at AAU.
He has worked in more than other 50 countries for U.S. and international organizations, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Health Organization, the U.S. Peace Corps, and the UN Population Fund. He was professor and deputy director of the Population Research Center at the University of Texas/Austin and research demographer at the WHO Nutrition Institute (INCAP) in Guatemala. Professor Teller, who holds a Ph.D. in sociology-demography from Cornell University, is currently Bixby Visiting Scholar at the Population Reference Bureau, where he is working on several books, articles, and studies on Ethiopia.
