In this session, papers will be presented on the impact of war on public health and on actions that public health workers can take to prevent war and its adverse health consequences. Presentations will address the potential global famine from regional nuclear war, health impacts of war in the Middle East, war and public health under a new administration, and an award-winning film on writing the wartime experience.
Session Objectives: At the end of the session, attendees will be able to recognize the impact of war on public health and identify actions public health workers can take to prevent war and its public health consequences.
