3064.0 Immigration Health Care : Disrupting Illegal Barriers

Health inequities require the attention of all health care providers. As a discipline with a social mandate to care for all populations, PHNs are required to work toward "disrupting any borders" which contibute to health inequities experienced by immigrants.
Session Objectives: Articulate the challenges of providing health care to undocumented health care clients. Analyze the process of transitioning from a utilitarian ethical principle to one of justice when providing public health nursing care for all populations within the U.S.
