Grassroots Realities (25 min.). Dir. Parvez Imam; Information: f20films@yahoo.com. This short experimental documentary film looks at the benefits and limitations of the widespread international NGO practice of training and deploying women to serve as volunteer health outreach workers in providing education and care for the poor.
Trafficked (15 min.). Dir. Amina K. Khan; Information: aminak_khan@yahoo.com. This film explores the plight of young Pakistanis who are forced by their families or economic necessity to leave their villages and travel to coastal cities, where they become underpaid child laborers in dangerous occupations.
SASA! (30 min.). Dir. Chanda Chevannes; Information: info@raisingvoices.org. Information: www.raisingvoices.org/. This film tells the stories of two women and their experiences with violence and HIV/AIDS. Along with its personal perspectives, the film includes analysis from experts and leaders about can be done to prevent these two closely linked pandemics.
