Monday, October 27, 2008: 2:30 PM
Oral
Join APHA and NPHW staff for this session to learn more about the National Public Health Week theme for 2009 and work with the staff to brainstorm ideas for local affiliates. While APHA gears its activities toward the federal level, local Affiliates carry the message of public health to their states, districts, counties, cities, and towns. During this session, participants will work in small groups to suggest plans and tools for implementing the NPHW theme in 2009 at the local level. More than 00,000 sites participated in NPHW during 2008 with activities such as 0000, 0000, and 0000. These local activities help take the message of public health to the masses, and we need your participation in this session to assure that NPHW 2009 takes the message of public health to even more people.
Session Objectives: Recall the theme for NPHW 2009 and at least two messages related to that theme Describe at least three activities that can be used to recognize NPHW at the local level
