Parents play a critical role in shaping the nutrition and physical-activity patterns of their children, and are pivotal in the prevention and treatment of childhood overweight/obesity. This session addresses challenges to and strategies for involving parents to address this growing public health problem.
Session Objectives: 1. Describe the role of parental perceptions, behaviors, and involvement in interventions aimed at preventing/reducing childhood overweight.
2. Discuss recruitment and retention strategies for implementing program with parents
