During this oral session you will learn first hand from CHWs and a student on how they took charge in developing their own local or state network. You will also learn about tools being developed through the national CHW network to assist CHWs in developing a network in their own state. Discover how empowering it is for chws, when the network is owned, managed and developed by chws.
Session Objectives: 1. Hear other community health workers talk about the importance of networks being established under the leadership of a chw. 2. Understand the big picture on the value of chw state netorks. 3. Discover the empowerment and ownership felt by chws when they take charge in developing their own local or state network. 3. Learn about the national chw network and the tools being developed to assist chws develop their own local or state network.
