This session will address recent healthcare reforms which were designed to reduce health disparities. Panelists will discuss if allowing the public financial market to dictate healthcare reform ultimately reduces health disparities. Panelists will analyze whether these reforms have actually impacted health disparites by improved equity, effectiveness and efficiency.
Session Objectives: 1. Are the objectives of healthcare reform compatible with the objectives of reducing health disparities? 2. Do you believe that allowing the public financial market to dictate healthcare reform will ultimately reduce health disparities? 3. Have recent healthcare reforms which were designed to reduce health disparities improved equity, effectiveness and efficiency? 4. Are Equity, Effectiveness and Efficiency actually competing performance indicators? 5. How can the constructs of Equity, Efficiency and Effectiveness be used to stimulate improvement in health outcomes?
