A panel of public and private sector health administrators will provide an overall picture of the upcoming changes and challenges in health administration from an academic perspective. This discussion will include what future challenges health administrators will face in today’s economic situation and what core competencies are needed now and in the future. Some examples of “best practices” in creating, improving, and maintaining a high performance public health organization will be presented. The goal of the session is to inform healthcare professionals the field of health administration, including current, ongoing, and future challenges and changes.
Session Objectives: 1. Describe "best practices" in creating, improving, and maintaining a high performance public health organization. 2. List two core competencies health administrators need to be effective leaders.
