This session includes presentations on current student research. Topics include international disease surveillance, international medical fellowships, sustainability of rural health centers, and state insurance mandates.
Session Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) will be able to: 1. Assess current international infectious disease surveillance systems; 2. Identify ways in which the overseas fellowships model can successfully recruit and prepare motivated health professions students to enter international health research; 3. List four factors potentially involved in the sustainability of rural health centers; and 4. Examine the process and stakeholders involved in the passage of payment policy.
