This panel discussion will involve proponents of a new regulatory standard to control combustible dust explosions in workplaces. Panelists will include a representative from the U.S.Chemical Safety Board and a family member whose brother died in a combustible dust explosion. A recent "60 minutes" TV show has highlighted the deadly toll of explosions such as the Imperial Sugar Explosion in Florida.
Session Objectives: Upon completion of this session participants will be able to: * Discuss the history and current move to regulate workplace combustible dust. * name two Case studies of combustible dust explosions is workplaces * List the current standards covering combustible dust * Identify the current efforts to regulate combustible dust environments
