197295 Enhancing Postabortion Care Counseling SkillsMonday, November 9, 2009
The interactive tool presented in a DVD form contains a package of simulations in two stories that realistically portray the challenges that providers face when proving counseling to PAC clients. The simulations in the DVD enhance the counseling skills of experienced PAC providers; demonstrates appropriate and less appropriate behaviors and challenges the learner to differentiate and choose the most appropriate ones based on PAC standards of practice. As the learner interacts with the DVD and chooses what she/he perceives to be most appropriate in each situation, he/she will receive immediate feedback on the choices from a "mentor" as part of the learning program.
This DVD was produced for as an on-the job learning tool for Kenyan Private Nurse Midwives operating small clinics in rural Kenya where there may be no electricity.
