In this session the CHW SPIG has integrated submitted abstracts and solicited presenters to bring together individuals who can share curriculum resources developed for Community Health Workers in various setting including on-the-job; in academic settings, and in issue specific organizations such as curriculum targeted to HIV-AIDs prevention or cardiovascular health..
The session will be divided into three sections with a group discussion exploring possible criteria for evaluating CHW educational programs and curriculum resources. The discussion will be followed by a round table session when individuals can visit with individuals presenting their curriculum/training. The session will close with a review of criteria proposed by the group as well as discussion of education and training issues facing the field. As a part of this, the importance of a leadership role for CHWs as educators and evaluators of curriculum resources will be explored.
