209312 Challenges and lessons learned in providing training and support for evaluation of CMCA intitatives

Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol (CMCA) is one of two SAMSHA Model alcohol policy programs that is currently being implemented across the nation. Since 2005, the Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) has been the national trainer and technical assistance provider for communities implementing and evaluating CMCA. Over the past 4 years, YLI has provided training and assistance to local evaluators, community coalitions without evaluators, and state funders of county CMCA coalitions to evaluate CMCA. This presentation will focus on challenges and lessons learned in assessing CMCA implementation fidelity and providing tools and training to assist a variety of stakeholders in CMCA evaluation.
