The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reported that climate change will have significant impacts on public health as a result of flooding, heat waves, and fires. Several states have taken action to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions and a few are now beginning state adaptation planning efforts. This presentation will provide an update on action plans at the state and federal levels with a broad focus on public health impact, as well as examples of the various strategies designed for specific regional needs.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe current state and national policies addressing mitigation. 2. Identify strategies of established state adaptation plans.
