210539 Key evaluation findings from the Health Eating and Active Commmunities program and the Central California Regional Obesity Prevention ProgramTuesday, November 10, 2009: 9:20 AM
Healthy Eating, Active Communities (HEAC) and The Central California Regional Obesity Prevention Program (CCROPP), funded by The California Endowment, were formed to reduce barriers to healthy food and physical activity opportunities in diverse, low-income communities with high obesity rates. The speaker will discuss the HEAC and CCROPP evaluation design, methods, and qualitative and quantitative evaluation findings. She will discuss progress in the grantee communities towards measurable environmental and policy change outcomes in school, after school, neighborhood and public health settings, and how these findings are contributing to building the evidence base for obesity prevention strategies.
