The National Public Health Performance Standards Program (NPHPSP) has provided a framework and foundation for the development of the Environmental Public Health Performance Standards. The NPHPSP also has served as both a building block and as a preparatory tool for the newly emerging national accreditation program for state and local health departments. This presentation will provide background about the NPHPSP, accreditation, and the linkages and opportunities that exist with the Environmental Public Health Performance Standards.
