This presentation will describe the process used by OMH to design a Performance Improvement and Management System (PIMS) based on the Framework. The presentation will address the rationale for designing the PIMS' objectives, core components, products, tools, and resources. In addition, tools and resources will be described that are or will be available to OMH grantees and other internal and external HHS stakeholders. These tools are designed to promote systematic program design, planning, performance measurement, data collection, and evaluation; and to help assess the effectiveness of minority health and health disparities-related interventions. Examples include: a searchable database of performance measures that permits users to identify and select indicators for outcomes or impacts identified in the Framework, an evaluation protocol, and various evaluation resources.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Describe PIMS design features and how development of its components was informed by elements of the Framework;
2. Identify different tools and resources that are or will be available to OMH grantees and other stakeholders for program planning and evaluation purposes.
