The use of mobile technology is pervasive across most age groups, and becoming increasingly popular among youth. Mobile devices are also becoming a popular means of seeking health information. The presenter will review ways in which mobile technology can be used for public health initiatives at a local level, and specifically how it is being used to provide valuable information to youth and adults seeking sexual health information. The presentation will specifically include a review of SexInfoSF.org program, an award-winning sexual health text messaging program for youth in San Francisco. As part of a panel discussion, the presenter will also outline the future implications of local mobile outreach for health education and marketing.

At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to: 1. Describe how mobile technology can be used for public health initiatives at a local level; 2. Discuss future implications of local mobile outreach for health education and marketing.
