A long period of attack and retrenchment of government has lead to proposals to privatize the water supply in a US Midwestern city, Akron , Ohio. Private capital markets have seen water utilities as an attractive source of revenue and moved within a regulation environment to purchase water systems in a number of major cities. This presentation focuses on the efforts of a community coalition to block privatization efforts.
