211998 E-Health: Health care with health information technology in Taiwan

To integrate the communication technology (CT) and health information technology (HIT), such as the national health statistics, epidemiology information, Electronic medical record (EMR) systems, web-cam systems, and telemedicine, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) ,overcome the geographic limitation, scare health resource, and limited budget and transform the health care systems in Taiwan. The innovation of health care has provided more advanced, more efficient, and higher quality of medical service.

The innovation of health care systems in Taiwan includes the following items:

(1) To provide the hi-tech based health care models for the elders and chronic disease patients in home, community, and institutes care systems.

(2) To Build up the platforms of public medical information for remote area

(3) To establish the national standards and exchanging mechanisms of the electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
