Social Work Perspective of Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait

The importance of social work at all three Intervention Sites will be outlined with a closer look at one site where the need for a social worker was identified at the start of the Initiative. This gap was filled through funding by a March of Dimes Community Grant. Specific goals, objectives and interventions will be discussed and preliminary results targeting clients with substance abuse problems will be presented,. The key role of the social worker as part of an interdisciplinary team to prevent preterm birth will be discussed.
