213355 Praxis: Health literacy and new media lessons learned and best practicesTuesday, November 10, 2009: 1:10 PM
ODPHP initiatives have incorporated the use of new media and internet technologies, such as widgets, online communities, blogs, etc. to promote the Physical Activity Guidlelines 2008, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and in www.healthfinder.gov, a government website focused on prevention. Best practices and lessons learned as a result of implementing these initiatives and products will be presented and discussed.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am the Health Literacy Fellow who is taking an active role in the production of the draft National Action Plan to Improve Health Literacy, a member of the HHS Health Literacy Workgroup, a team member of the Health Communication and Health IT Workgroup leadership for Healthy People 2020, and a member of the team at the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) that develops and manages the website, www.healthfinder.gov.
