Disclosure statement:
Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have worked for the Environmental Protection Agency as an Environmental Scientist for the past 11 years during which I have been an invited speaker at more than 50 conferences and meetings focused on pharmaceuticals and personal care products in water. On several occasions I have served as the keynote presenter on the same topic and represented the Agency at numerous meetings at various settings with stakeholders (e.g., American Water Works Association, Water Environment Research Foundation). In addition, I represent EPA's Office of Water on the White House Federal Interagency Workgroup on Pharmaceuticals in the Environment. I am heavily involved with, not only, the science associated with the issues related to pharmaceuticals in the environment, but also with efforts to educate others on the proper disposal of medications. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of New Orleans and a Master of Science in Public Health from Tulane University in New Orleans.
