Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: My qualifications include an earned doctorate in Nutritional Sciences followed by 6 years of postdoctoral training in endocrine research focusing on the endocrine regulations of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D metabolism. I have published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, chapters and abstracts, many of which explored vitamin D issues related to national intake estimates, food composition, fortification practices and physiological effects. My current research at FDA examines the safety and efficacy of novel food sources of vitamin D on bone strength and infectious disease resistance.
