This session is a critical overview of current issues in responding to violence prevention research and practice with a particular focus on women and children. The session contains studies conducted in both US and international settings. INcluded are studies related to adolescents and youth such as bullying, foster care, violent injury, child health, and child labor. STudies related to MCH include analysis of data related to sexual coercion, unintended pregnancy, and home visiting.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss issues related to relationship violence including; sexual coercion, child labor, and unintended pregnancy.
2. Identify successful intervention strategies with infants, children, and adolescents.
3. Assess policy implications for responding to issues of bullying, youth injury and foster care.
