4360.0 Healthcare Reform: What Do People with Disabilities Need?

A panel discussion among active participants in healthcare reform, in particular as it pertains to people with disabilities. Topics will include the strengths and weaknesses of pending or recently enacted legislation, further steps needed to better meet the healthcare and long-term care needs of people with disabilities, ongoing policy issues with respect to government programs providing services to people with disabilities, and prospects for universal coverage and/or a single payer healthcare system.
Session Objectives: Name the principal issues in healthcare reform from the perspective of people with disabilities. Describe the progress to date in advancing these issues in legislation and policy changes.
