This session will provide data and discussion on health information seeking behaviors online. Also described are motivations for using the internet as a source for health information, and Health Information National Trends Survey findings on the use of social media.
Session Objectives: 1. Explain the public’s health seeking behaviors through social media and internet/online means. 2. Identify characteristics of users of social media in terms of the Health Information National Trends Survey, the African American population, and television medical drama viewers.
