Widespread adoption and implementation of HIT will require consensus on infrastructure and standards. It will also require rigorous analyses of how well HIT systems perform. This session will provide useful examples of how well the process of consensus-building and standards-creation is going so far.
Session Objectives: *Define tools for building consensus and overcoming resistance from providers, regulators, industry, and Capitol Hill. *Analyze role IT performance measures play in health reform, resource management, and service improvement.
