This year's conference theme is Social Justice: A Public Health Imperative. Poster proposals can be on any public health-related topic and should represent a project sponsored by your affiliate or any of your affiliate members (individuals or groups).

The deadline for submitting poster abstracts is Monday, June 21, 2010. Authors will be contacted in late July regarding poster abstract selection for exhibition. If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Brenda Kirkwood, APHA Student Assembly Representative to the CoA, at: bakirkwood@gmail.com.

Undergraduate and Graduate Student Poster Contests

The Committee on Affiliates (CoA) is the representative body of APHA that represents 53 affiliates: one for each state, one for Washington, DC and two in California and New York. The CoA is sponsoring two student poster sessions for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in public heath-related coursework. Students are encouraged to submit proposals for public health-related work they have either recently completed or in the process of completing.

For the 2010 APHA annual meeting, the student poster contest will be comprised of two sessions of high-caliber abstracts. One poster session will be exclusively for abstracts written by undergraduate students to highlight their public health-related activities and research. The other session will be open to graduate students only (master and doctoral levels)interested in sharing their research and experience in public health. Student posters accepted for exhibition at the annual meeting will be judged by a sub-committee of the CoA, and top winners will be selected and recognized.

The deadline for submitting student poster abstracts is Monday, June 21, 2010. Authors will be contacted in late July regarding poster abstract selection for exhibition. For more information, please contact Brenda Kirkwood, APHA Student Assembly Representative to the CoA, at: bakirkwood@gmail.com.
