Caucus on Refugee and Immigrant Health

Submit Abstract

The Caucus invites abstracts for papers on current issues in refugee, immigrant and migrant health in the US and internationally. The Caucus is particularly interested in topics such as:
  • Barriers and Enablers for delivering quality and culturally and linguistically appropriate public health programs to refugees and immigrants
  • Challenges of transnational migration and immigrant demographic growth on health equity and social justice
  • Gender, migration, ethics, human rights, and social justice
  • Initiatives and strategies for engaging immigrant communities, public health practitioners, researchers, policy makers in public dialogue and political action that promote health equity and social justice
  • Innovative socio-ecological theories/frameworks and interventions for treating and preventing diseases (chronic and infectious) among immigrants and refugees
  • Policy Options and Systems Strategies for Decreasing Health Access Disparities for Immigrants to US
  • Responses of states, local governments, and public health systems to US immigration policy (current and proposed) and their implications for health equity, social justice reforms and access to care for immigrant and refugees
We are particularly interested in abstracts that address immigration to new geographic areas and local responses and that provide comparative data across various immigrant and refugee groups.

Special Instructions to Authors: Limit abstract to 250 words.
