The appropriate use of weights, and how the use of weights, are mandatory for generating nationally representative estimates with MEPS data will be presented.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am the Deputy Director of the Division of Statistical Research and Methods in the Center for Financing, Access, and Cost Trends (CFACT), AHRQ. I work extensively on technical issues related to MEPS survey estimation as well as the design and analysis of health care utilization and expenditure data. I have extensive experience as a statistician at other federal agencies including the Government Accountability Office, National Center for Health Statistics, and Census Bureau.
