219602 Honoring Heros - barriers to veterans health care

10 veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghhanistan participated in this study of attitudes and experiences toward their health care. Several patterns of barriers to care emerged including the difficulties with understanding benefits, bureaucratic barriers to timeliness of care, geographic disparities and the warrior mentality of the veterans. Conclusions include opportunities for change at all levels of the system.
