A practicing public health consultant will describe some of the essential strategies that will make you an effective independent consultant. Those strategies include creating a vision and business plan, identifying resources necessary for success, writing proposals, contracts, and time keeping and negotiating with contractors. The importance of networking and relationship building will be highlighted as well as how a new contract can be acquired through means that you would least expect.
