Wednesday, November 10, 2010 : 10:30 AM - 10:50 AM

Jill Locantore , Denver Regional Council of Governments, Denver, CO
Locantore involves audiences through the choices of inputs such as development and transportation practice, urban form policy, and environmental regulation/policy using a computer-/internet-based visioning tool. What will the Denver region look like in the year 2040? How can our region accommodate millions of new people and jobs? How might different development patterns and infrastructure investments influence our region's quality of life? The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) has developed a tool called MetroQuest that allows policy makers, business leaders and the general public to explore these questions by visualizing alternative future scenarios for our region. This interactive workshop uses handheld keypads so the audience can create scenarios together on the fly and then discuss the issues that arise.
