232040 "Hospital Management in Developing Countries -- Lessons from the PhilippinesTuesday, November 9, 2010
: 5:15 PM - 5:30 PM
Having worked in over 80 countries in over 20 years, Dr. Macagba will focus on ways patients and community health organizations will never achieve the millennium development goals for health. This can be achieved only with the active participation of hospitals which are really the most sustainable health organizations that serve communities daily without external funding. But hospitals are busy trying to survive without training in hospital management and most do not know how to address the health needs of people living in the communities that they serve. The presentation will address some of the "out of the box" thinking that allows hospitals to survive in very resource-limited environments.
