Effective prevention of epidemic prone diseases along the US-Mexico border presents unique challenges. Quality and access to health services vary substantially among border communities on both sides of the border. Language and cultural differences add to the complexity of challenges needed to be confronted. Data highlighting other obstacles to effective prevention of infectious diseases of public health concern will be presented.
