Ana-Marie Jones , Executive Director, CARD - Collaborating Agencies Responding to Disasters, Oakland, CA
The Prepare to Prosper presentation looks at preparedness through a marketing and social change framework. Ms. Jones will discuss how looking at vulnerable people as consumers with the power of choice, rather than as inevitable disaster victims, allows for social change and for preparedness to be an agent of transformation.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe ways in which vulnerable communities are under-served by the traditional approach to preparedness 2. Describe how vulnerable and marginalized communities can be empowered by preparedness 3. Describe the importance of choosing the appropriate message, messenger and method of delivery
