Factors Associated with Improved Oral Health Outcomes for People living with HIV/AIDS

Capitalizing upon its decade long experience of community-oriented and participatory approach, AIDS Care Group (ACG) has identified housing, transportation, food, clothing, cultural sensitivity and respect as key client needs and adopted a model of oral health care of HIV/AIDS affected population that adequately and appropriately caters to these identified critical unmet needs of client. ACG now has a cohort of over 1000 HIV/AIDS patients in South Eastern Counties of the Commonwealth of PA that has been in its care for at least 3 years or more using special projects and grants. The presentation will discuss factors associated with improved oral health outcomes in this cohort and success of income generation model for community-based service providers.
