The presentation will describe the dilemma and the scope of prescription drug abuse in the United States and how it affects medical care. Some strategies will be provided to help avoid diversion and the abuse of prescription medication. Lastly, information will be provided to help identify patients who may already have problems as a result of prescription drug mis-use and abuse with an effort to get them into the treatment that they may require.
