The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA) contains numerous provisions that can be used to change the landscape of health care services in rural areas. This presentation will focus on those provisions that would foster systems of care, community-based public health interventions, increases in workforce in rural areas, and multi-sectoral policy development. Strategies will be suggested for community and provider-based activities to optimize use of the resources made available by the ACA.
