Community-based organizations, particularly those with a national network with the institutional capacity to take programs to scale, can play a decisive role in advancing policy and environmental change strategies and spreading evidence-based chronic disease prevention programs. The purpose of this presentation is to share the successes and challenges that the Y has faced in enhancing its role in addressing a number of key public health issues.
