Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have an MD from the Medical School at the University of Guatemala, and an MPH from the School of Public Health at the University of Puerto Rico. I also hold a Ph.D from the School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina and I have the EIS training (class of 94-96), from the CDC. I have worked in public health matters for over 20 years, and 15 of these, have been devoted to International Public Health with the Pan American Health Organization. Most of my time, have been applied to the prevention and control of infectious and non infectious diseases, including epidemic prone diseases. I have particularly paid attention and worked with congenital syphilis and tuberculosis in the US - Mexico Border, but I also have projects in progress to address the coinfection of TB and Diabetes, screening for Chagas disease in Blood bank donors, etc.
