Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: A public health researcher and ethicist by training, Dr. Sean Philpott holds degrees in microbiology, medical anthropology, and bioethics. He is currently Assistant Professor of Bioethics in the Union Graduate College-Mt. Sinai Bioethics Program, where he develops and teaches courses in research ethics. he also helps coordinate Union Graduate College’s NIH-funded Advanced Certificate Program in Research Ethics for Central and Eastern Europe. In addition, he is currently Chair of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Human Studies Review Board, an advisory panel that reviews the scientific and ethical aspects of research involving human participants submitted to the EPA for regulatory purposes. Before joining Union Graduate College he was Science and Ethics Officer for PATH, an international nonprofit organization that creates sustainable, culturally relevant solutions to global health problems.
