Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Dr. Chris Hafner-Eaton has served as Health Science Policy Analyst at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute for Nursing Research since June 2009. Thus far during her tenure at NIH, she has actively participated in many Health Services Research and Policy investigations including the NIH Patient Safety decision-algorithm development as well as quality and cost of care measurement. Prior to her current post, for three years she was a Public Health Officer in the Dominican Republic working for a private non-profit orphanage network in a poor rural province. For the two decades prior, she conducted original Health Services Research and Policy Analysis via her private consulting firm and also while on the faculty of several universities and colleges. She has authored publications and conducted research in: Health Disparities, Access to Health Care, Women’s Health, Long-Term-Care, Lactation, Quality Improvement in Health Services, and Educating Professionals. Dr. Hafner-Eaton earned both her PhD in Public Health with Health Services Research and Policy Analysis and MPH in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from the UCLA School of Public Health.
