This session focused on identifying barriers to health care providers who are engaging in community advocacy and policy change. It takes a holistic approach to health and service provision.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be better able to Explain three strategies used to mobilize and activate 18 – 35 year olds in health care reform. Identify the specific barriers among low-income community residents in accessing nontraditional care (e.g., dental, vision, and mental health services) and health insurance coverage. List three specific categories of vision health that are impacted by socio-economic disparity.
