The purpose of this session is to provide a forum for public health researchers to present results of their investigations involving Public Health Databases and Data Mining . The relevance and importance of the session is to educate attendees about several statistical methods applied to a variety of public health settings: Using deterministic-dominant approach in Linking Birth Certificate Records with Administrative Data; Integrated Health Interview Series (IHIS): Providing free, integrated NHIS data over the Internet; Pediatric Health Information System (PHIS): An untapped resource for public health and comparative effectiveness research; Innovative use of state school-based survey data to evaluate and sustain programs.
Session Objectives: Describe several statistical and epidemiological methods applied to public health problems Explain how statistical and epidemiological methods are applied to community public health problems Demonstrate the application of several statistical and epidemiological methods to public health data
