Medicaid is a major funder of substance abuse treatment. State-specific initiatives to improvesubstance abuse treatment will be described. Use of electronic health records in substance abuse treatment programs has lagged other healthcare fields. A system implemented at a substance abuse treatment program will be described. Innovative means of providing substance abuse treatment to hard to reach populations, such as the homeless will be presented.
