This session will cover topics related to health care reform and Medicare. Examples of topics include whether the RUGs III case-mix system adequately adjust for the cost of Medicare patients in nursing homes, and linical care strategies for high performing (and winning) home health agencies.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss issues related to post-acute care in nursing homes. 2. Identify the marginal costs associated with Medicare patient care in nursing homes. 3. Identify evidence-based effective organizational and clinical care themes and strategies that produce high performing home health agencies.
