Oral health disparities impact oral health care access and resources on a national and international scope. Programs and policies that address oral health disparities will be presented along with alternative models. The role of the dental provider in addressing this issue will be discussed and advocacy to reduce oral health disparities will be described.
Session Objectives: Describe national and international programs that seek to reduce oral health disparities. Outline policy options that are available to improve access to dental services. Identify alternate models that improve access to dental services. Address the role of the dental professionals in a social construct.
